The fourth part will pick up the story right after the dramatic ending of Season 3, when Assane Diop decides to turn himself in to the police in hopes of protecting his family. His capture takes him straight to the same prison where Hubert Pellegrini—the man who destroyed his childhood and caused his father’s death—is being held. This unexpected encounter marks the beginning of an even darker phase for Assane.
Although Assane is not a violent criminal, his wit and ability to craft meticulous plans make him a threat even behind bars. Now isolated and without the freedom to move as before, he must devise a strategy that not only ensures his survival but also allows him to confront Pellegrini, who surely won’t pass up the chance to take revenge. With both men under the same roof, tension will be inevitable, and every move could alter the course of their rivalry.
What happened in Lupin Part 3?
In the third part, Assane carries out a series of heists that place him at the center of public attention. After stealing the Black Pearl and manipulating French public opinion in his favor, he decides to disappear by faking his death. This act allows him to reunite with his mother as he tries to rebuild his family bonds.
However, once he realizes that his life will always put his loved ones in danger, he makes the hardest decision: surrendering himself. The season ends with Assane behind bars, but hopeful that this sacrifice will bring peace to his wife, his son, and those closest to him. Now, accompanied only by the Arsène Lupin books, he must wait for the right moment to make his next move.
